Clubroom re-building Project
Stage 1 building work is well underway for our new commercial kitchen, Bistro, Function Centre and beer garden with a kids playground. The work on Stage 1 is running on schedule and still expected for completion before May 2010.
Our new Function Management team has come on board to start putting marketing and event package ideas in place for the new centre and we've started taking bookings and enquiries for 2010.
The rear of the club rooms and the old beer garden are now a restricted building site. The disabled access door has been closed off so entry to the clubrooms for disabled persons and wheelchairs is temporarily via the Bistro.
The latest plans for the project are displayed on the members notice board and we welcome any member's questions, comments or suggestions. This page will be updated every week as the project proceeds.
The project is due for completion before May 2010. We are now accepting bookings from May onwards for Events to be held in the Function Centre, Alfresco Dining area, Landscaped lawns and existing Club rooms. Please contact the Functions manager at to discuss your upcoming event.
Smoking indoors, including covered entrances, in NT Clubs and Pubs is now prohibited.
We value all Members equally regardless of whether they smoke or not and will provide good amenities where customers may smoke without affecting other customers or staff. We are very grateful for the support shown by our loyal members who smoke.
We have opened a gaming room external smoking area that will be completed in several weeks and an area for Bistro patrons. Sitzlers are building a covered alfresco area easily accessible to everyone in the TAB, lounge bar, darts and eight ball table areas that is due for completion by Australia Day. Meanwhile we have a temporary smoking area through the old beer garden door.
Our new Function Centre will also have areas where smoking will be permitted. We will keep Members advised on our progress.
New suburbs of Lyons and Muirhead
The development of Lyons is progressing well with several hundred of the 690 new houses being built behind our Club completed or underway. The planning for the adjacent suburb of Muirhead with potential for another 1,300 allotments is now underway. Garanmanak Park is a beautiful area for families in the centre of the development.
